It's a new year, with new pretty things to play with :)

This year is going to be epic.

I think I have a lot going on this year that will ultimately work in my favor. I have a lot of determination to grow as a person and a writer. I don't want to be at the same level that I was at in 2009, I am trying to go above and beyond where I was, and make a new level for myself that I didn't even know existed, really.

I'm not worried about what is going to happen with me and my family in 2010, I just know that we are all blessed to be here in the first place, and there are great things that come out of the Buck family, so no need to stress on things that I know will occur and end greatly.

Career wise, I plan to enter onto a new internship, I am currently applying to various magazines, Atlanta-based as well as nationally known magazines. I'm super eager to get into something new, yea, I'm all ancy and stuff ha

Relationship wise, I am still being as patient as possible and trying not to rush things with any relationship opportunity that is thrown my way. I'm doing really well thee days with

truly caring about how another person feels and being there for them, as well as getting to know a person very well before ever considering whether they would be a good match for me or not. And I have successfully discovered that the majority of the guys I know, or are very close to, are amazing friends, and friends only. No need to complicate things, right? I have plenty of guy friends, and I have plenty of guy friends who care about me in a way that has nothing to do with them wanting to get in my pants. I can't say that for ALL of my guy friends, but for the ones that matter most, the ones that I need in my life and do not want out of my life, aint no "friends with benefits" going on over here, I can tell you THAT much. Ha

Overall, 2010 is going to be some kind of year. I'm lowkey and HIGHKEY madd amp'd about it, and there is NO denying of hiding that.

I'm quite picky.

When it comes to my friends, not everyone can make the cut. There are a lot of people out here that you just cannot trust and they are steady trying to be your friend and get in your business.

I've fallen for this before but never again. A real friend doesn't back stab you or do something hella trife to you just because they are mad. If a real friend has a problem then they come to YOU and talk to YOU about it ad you both resolve the issue. A real friend doesn't tell everyone BUT YOU that they are mad at YOU, and never reach out to resolve the conflict. That's just petty and unnecessary.

I am lucky enough to have my handful of friends that I can trust with everything in the world. The friends that I know have my back when I'm really in need, and the one's that know virtually everything about, past, present and future.

I also have those friends that aren't my best friends, but I still consider them to be the friends I can go to if I need something, and the friends that I hang out with on a regular basis. Not everyone can be my bestfriend... there's only a select few of those.

The many circles of friends that I have keep me rounded and diverse. I don't like to hang out with the same people over and over and over again, because eventually it gets boring and I've done everything with these people. I like to meet new people and check out new spots and what not. This doesn't mean that these new people I'm meeting are about to be my new bestfriends, but I could always use a few more acquaintances, nothing wrong with that, right? I mean, fun is fun, and I like to have fun. Point Blank.

I have my bestfriends, my really good friends, my friends I say hi to at school, and people that I know from being out. Unless I have chilled with you more than 10 times, you can't really be my GOOD friend, but you could very well be someone that I know and have fun with easily. And even if I have hung out with you more than 10 times, if we have never had a convo that didn't result in the consumption of alcohol or weed, it doesn't count. lol

I hate it when people try to bribe me into hanging out with them with weed or alcohol, like... You don't have to get me fucked up just to hang out with me. I can hang out when I'm sober, it's okay. lol There is nothing wrong with being sober, but there IS something wrong with me drunk or high ALLLL the time. Get your life together, it's not that crucial. lol

I love my besties, my friends, my acquaintances, and everyone else that I know as well. We'll see how good of a friend I am to you when xmas comes around. teehee

12 hours is a hella long time to be in the car, but me and my ma made it fun all the way from Atlanta, Ga to Rockwall, Tx. I'm oh so happy to be home with my precious doggies and my fam. and friends. I haven't been home in a whole year i was way past overdue to make this trip..







My old job is in love with me, if you didn't know. They already put me on the schedule starting tomorrow ha, I need some extra cash so why not have fun while doing it? :)

I feel kinda lost though, I had to get used to where I was a remember how to get places, lol. Ive been riding down Northside Drive and Buford HWY too much I forgot everything else lmao. Anyways, Happy Holidays to everyone, have safe trips home, and have fun man, be with your fam and enjoy this time, really.

Christmas isn't all about gifts, but it sure does make it a wittle more interesting :) lol

No worries though, I hope I came out on top with my grades, and I'm moving on ready to relax in my bed in Texas. Woot.

i feel like.

My summer has been pretty productive. I feel way more independent now, too.
Like, I finished my sophomore year in college (WOOT!), I didn't go home for the summer (WOOT WOOT!), got my own apartment in MY NAME, kept a job and juggled an internship while taking a few vaca's because of all the stress, and managed to spend some ample time with my bitties inbetween.

I am a multi tasker.


I'm lowkey ready for school to start too, because the sooner it starts, the sooner I can learn something new to upgrade my writing skills, and the sooner the school year will be over again and I can chill and be the baddest with no homework.

:) I really do love my life, and I am truly blessed to be given all the opportunities I have encountered and only God has been the one to ultimately help me through all the BS that has gone down this summer.

I feel like I've grown.
and I kinda like that feeling.

Well, I've been missing. Hella late on the Fourth of July wishes.. Hope everyone had a bangin time..

Bigger news, I took a lil vaca to Chicago last week for my ma's birthday. She turned the big 5-0 and we had such a good time up here! I was born in Chicago and my ma was born and raised here, so all her fam. is still up here chillin, and of courseee they were too hype to see me! woot! lol I'm on my way to the airport now to get back to sunny atlanta. I miss the weather. Chi town is not hot, ever. lol My god father thinks 72 degrees is hot, he's a mess :) lol

I'll post pictures later when I get a chance, this car ride isn't long enough for all that. And I'll go into more details of my festivities which included a lot of um, shots.

I feel like I need to let all my friends from back home know what the real deal is real quick. Don't worry, this will only take a minute. You guys can take it how you want it, it's up to you, but I'm already tired of explainin myself 75483754732 times to 758748675 different people every single day.

All I have been hearing is, "jess!, when are you coming back to dallas? we need to hang out i havent talked to you in so long!".

Number one. I'm not coming home this summer. Sorry for ya. I have a good job out here, an apartment, and a wonderful Internship with a magazine. I believe after reading that last sentence you will realize that I am following my dreams right now, which is the initial reason that I came to Atlanta in the first place. So, why would I go home to Dallas? to chill with you guys? I mean, that would be really fun and cool, but I would be doing NOTHING productive with my talents, besides working at Nick's again. (love you stan, but no siir).

Number two. If i have not talked to you in months, why are you all of the sudden BLOWING UP MY PHONE asking me when I'm coming home. Why do you all of the sudden care now about how I have been and want to hang out so bad? I don't have enough minutes in the day to let you know how my entire school year has been, becuase I haven't gotten a call from you in six months or more.

I hate it when dudes really start calling again from home when school is out, hella excited to see me, but I aint talked to them in dumb long. You were NOT thinking of me on jan. 22, march 19 or april 10th. [random days], I mean, thanks for the bday wishes on april 14th, but you just started thinking of me May 9th when school let out. nice try, but you will not get NO play.

I love living out here in Atlanta, and wherever my career takes me is where I will be. I still love my friends from back home so much, but if we don't talk for a while, that doesn't mean that we aren't friends! It just simply means that we each have our own lives and have our own things going on.

no worries, you're still the baddest. just in another state. you all can come visit me whenever you want, it aint nothing but a phone call and a standby flight!

I absolutely love my internship. Kim is hella bomb (editor-in-chief) and general looks out for me like no other (owner).

Finals are done, I have a project to turn in tomorrow morning, and then it's all summmmmerrrrrtimeeee yesss...

moving into bianca's house tomorrow too.. until we move into OUR apartment at the end of the month. im dumb exicted. permanent sleepover. haa

Im real excited about this summer though. I'll be working, in my own apartment, and doing my internship.. busy busy busy but I dont care I love how things are going now.

I will admit that I have been MIA. But, I have good reason. I've been working hella hours, but with no complaints.. keeping up my grades in school [gotta keep myself on the dean's list!], and I just landed me an internship with Street Report Magazine. But the best news of all is... me and Beno found our apartment! This is the business I'm too hype. So with all of that said, I will indeed be in Atlanta this summer, working and doing my internship... which I am using for school credit [chea].

Happy belated bday Na'taya. She turned 20 this past Friday, and had a surprise birthday party at her house, which resulted in some un-lady-like activities aka... fighting. Yep, I said it. And the whole situation was completely ridiculous, but it happened, and I had my friends' back. I truly am the baddest huh?

Like, this girl I went to highschool with, a real sweetheart, apparently with an amazing voice that I never heard until a few months ago. Amy "ammu" Varghese. And I can't just sit back and hear her crazy unique and perfect voice without saying something about it. I told her I was going to blog about her, because I think that people need to hear her talent, and she deserves the all the praise she gets, for sure.
